Unison Choruses Canada presents the Unison Awards 2026

These awards will be presented in-person at the banquet of the next Unison Festival, in Vancouver, BC.

These awards, in three categories, are an opportunity for Unison member choruses to recognize Unison members, choruses and organizations that have enriched and improved their communities through choral music and friendship.

Nominations are open to all member choruses in good standing and limited to one nomination per chorus, per category.

Member choruses will be required to submit a nomination form, along with a brief outline of the individual’s achievements and a testimonial from the nominating chorus. Nominees must agree to their nomination before it can be submitted to the jury for awards consideration.

A jury, made up of Unison Board members and Unison members, will be established to review the nomination submissions and vote for the award recipients.

The award categories are as follows:

Service

This award is given to an individual or organization that has gone above and beyond in their service to Unison or a member chorus. They have been instrumental in moving these groups forward and have provided exemplary service either as long-term volunteers, Board Members, or staff.

Legacy

This award is given to a noted leader, builder or donor to Unison or a member chorus. They are recognized by their peers and colleagues as individuals of strong character, and generous personalities who have shared their passion and vision with others, thus impacting the choral movement in their community or nationally, enabling growth and sustainability to both.

Innovation

This award is given to an individual who, through creative force, has made an impact on Unison or a member chorus by developing creative, imaginative, and innovative artistic endeavors.
