Greetings from Dustyn Baulkham, Festival General Manager
August 20, 2025

Hello friends,
I’m honoured and delighted to join the Unison Festival 2026 team as General Manager. Working with such a dedicated and creative group here in Vancouver – and with the many voices that make up our national Unison family – is a real privilege. Together, we’re building something that I believe will be our most inspiring and memorable festival yet.
The theme for Unison 2026, Music Healing Spirit, resonates with me a lot. Because music has an extraordinary power to connect, to lift, and to heal – whether through a single voice or hundreds joined in harmony. It’s not just about performance; it’s about the shared moments when a song reflects our stories, celebrates our communities, and offers both hope and joy.
Festival delegates are at the heart of all of this. Every rehearsal, every note, every laugh you share will be part of the magic that makes this festival special. My hope is that you’ll come away not only with unforgettable memories, but also with renewed connections, fresh inspiration, and a deeper sense of belonging.
I’ve been passionate about creating and managing 2SLGBTQIA+ events for many years, from local gatherings to large-scale festivals. What excites me most about Unison is that it blends artistry, activism, and celebration over one long weekend – all within a community that knows the value of lifting each other up. I’m grateful to be working with our Festival team, artistic directors, and the many volunteers and partners who are already contributing their energy to bring Unison 2026 to life.
Whether you’ll be singing on stage, working behind the scenes, or cheering from the audience, I can’t wait to welcome you to Vancouver.
All the best,

Dustyn Baulkham (he/him) General Manager, Unison Festival 2026 eventgm@unisonchoruses.ca
