Unison 2026 Delegate Registration Subsidy Program
October 28, 2025
Unison intends to make the festival accessible to as many singers as possible. To that end, Unison is making a limited number of subsidized delegate registrations available to our member choruses.
There are 4 levels of subsidy available to each chorus, based on the Early Bird registration rate of $350, and those are as follows:
Maximum available per chorus: 1 - $200 subsidy — 1 EB registration = $150
Maximum available per chorus: 2 - $150 subsidies — 1 EB registration = $200
Maximum available per chorus: 4 - $100 subsidies — 1 EB registration = $250
Maximum available per chorus: 6 - $50 subsidies — 1 EB registration = $300
Total maximum subsidy $ available per Unison member chorus = $1,200
A. General
Unison reserves the right to limit the number of subsidized delegate/staff registrations accorded per choir, to ensure equitable access to the subsidized registrations.
B. Eligibility
Subsidized delegate/staff registrations will be allocated based on need.
Only singing members and staff of participating choirs are eligible for subsidized delegate registrations.
To qualify for a subsidized registration, a prospective delegate/staff must also receive an equal or greater subsidy from another source.
C. Application process
Choirs apply to Unison for subsidized delegate/staff registrations on behalf of their members using the application form provided.
Applications must include the following information for each individual for which a subsidy is being requested:
Subsidy level being requested
Reason for the subsidy, i.e., low/fixed income, staff
Other assistance the individual has received
Notes specific to an individual
All requests must be submitted by email to financialadmin@unisonchoruses.ca
The deadline for submitting applications for subsidized registrations is December 31, 2025.
D. Allocation process
The applications received will be reviewed as a group.
Subsidized registrations will be allocated in order according to need.
Choirs will be informed of the allocation decisions by January 10, 2026.
If an individual does not receive a subsidized registration, they will be considered eligible for the early-bird delegate registration rate if the Early Bird deadline has already passed.
