Registration Terms and Conditions for Delegates and Choruses
These Registration Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) form an agreement between Unison Choruses Canada (“UNISON”) and the person or chorus applying for registration. By applying to register for the Unison Festival (the “Festival”), you or your chorus agree to be bound by these Terms. The Festival will take place on dates and at a location specified by UNISON, as detailed on the official Festival website.
1. Registration
Registration applications are accepted online only. Registration applications will not be accepted by fax, telephone, mail, or email.
For Delegates Under 19: If you are under 19, your registration application must be accompanied by a letter of permission signed by your parent, guardian, or responsible adult and emailed to registrar@unsisonchoruses.ca. The letter must include your full name, address, the name of the chorus you intend to perform with (if any), and the name(s) of the adult(s) responsible for supervising you during the Festival.
2. Registration Refunds and Transfers
Registrations are non-refundable, except in the event the Festival is postponed or cancelled due to a pandemic or other force majeure event.
Delegate registrations may be transferred to another individual up until a date specified by UNISON, as outlined in official communications. After this date, delegate registrations are non-transferable.
3. Festival Events and Performances
Events and performances advertised on UNISON’s website and promotional materials are subject to change. While UNISON’s intentions are to provide the advertised lineup, no guarantee is made that any particular event or performance will proceed as described.
UNISON reserves the right to adjust event timings, venues, or cancel events due to circumstances beyond its control.
4. Performing Rights
Choruses are responsible for obtaining and paying for any required performing rights for works they intend to perform at the Festival. This includes copyright licenses, composer agreements, and arranger permissions.
Questions about performing rights should be directed to festival@unisonfestivalunisson.ca.
5. Conduct
All participants (delegates and choruses) must comply with Festival rules and reasonable instructions from UNISON representatives or volunteers.
Participants must adhere to health and safety measures prescribed by UNISON and local health authorities.
6. Sponsors' Rights
Participants must not act in a way that competes with or devalues Festival sponsors’ branding rights.
If UNISON determines that a participant’s actions conflict with sponsor rights, those actions must cease immediately.
7. Media Consent
UNISON or its appointed agents may photograph or record participants during the Festival.
By participating, delegates and choruses assign any rights to this recorded material to UNISON and authorize its reproduction, broadcast, and distribution without geographic or time limitations.
8. Personal Data
Personal data collected during registration will be used for organizing the Festival, selling merchandise, and related purposes.
UNISON will not share personal data with third parties outside of Festival-related activities.
9. Insurance & Property Damage
Delegates are advised to obtain adequate travel, accident, and health insurance.
UNISON is not liable for any loss or damage to personal or chorus property during the Festival.
10. Cancellation of Registration by UNISON
UNISON reserves the right to cancel any registration if these Terms are breached.
Registrations cancelled due to breaches will not receive refunds or compensation.
11. Applicable Law
These Terms and the relationship between participants and UNISON are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. Participants consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of Alberta courts.
